Linkies

Only 3 days until the press arrives! I'm excited, but a little nervous about how the transport will go. It gets picked up tomorrow morning from QLD. Eep.

I was honoured yesterday to be on the current WINKS list on the Desire to Inspire blog. Make sure you check out their blog, it's amazing. So much inspiration in so little space! Really wishing I owned rather than rented right now.

Also listed on the WINKS list is the Canberra's Got Style blog. Great to see someone promoting the more creative and curious side of our city. I'm envious of our Melbourne friends who have artsy markets and such. We've got the Old Bus Depot Markets, but they're not focussed solely on arts and handmade crafts. There's the Gorman House Markets, which sadly I've never visited. That's now on the to-do list. Still, if I get my things in order, I could try a stall one weekend to sell some greeting cards....

I just wanted to let you know how helpful your blog has been! i have been struggling over the past couple of years (after completing my graphic design diploma) to find any good resources in australia! i am still at point A but i haven't given up - thanks for inspiring me!

Gorman House would be good -- any markets are a lot of sitting around (take the tabletop press and make while you sell!)

Don't forget places like The Hive in Braddon who sell local merchandise and sell it well!

Happy new year!

Remember to contact the embassies (by sending them a sample or 2 of your work) and consulates in Canberra. Many need invitations and special celebration cards for their national days.

Unfortunately, some from less developed countries are no payers or pay poorly so if you do an order, ask for 50% payment up front.

With letterpress, you may also want to think of die cut windows on card covers (but mostly keep the cost down to make a sale).
Regards,
Byronic - Canberra

Kali - So great that the blog is helping you! Keep with it - if you want something badly enough, you'll find it.

&Duck - I've got the pricing for stalls at Gorman now, so as soon as the wedding's over I'll be printing as much as I can to get some products to sell. I used to run a kid's facepainting stall at the Bus Depot Markets, the days would vary from being exciting and relaxing, to boring, long and hot. But I'm willing to give it a go again!

Must visit The Hive. I've driven past, but never had a look inside. Saturday morning can be my shopping time :)

Byron - Embassies? What a great idea!
